Breakfast Tips for Those on the Go

They say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day.  What a great way to jump-start your morning and energize your mind, right?  Sure, the concept sounds great in theory, but let's be honest here.  Who actually has time to whip up an omelette or even pour a bowl of cereal in the constant state of chaos we all know as morning?  If you always seem to find yourself rushing out of the house with breakfast in your hand instead of in your stomach, perhaps you should try these simple tips for eating on the go.

Drink up!

One of my favorite breakfast-on-the-go remedies is the stir-and-go method.  There are plenty of pre-made breakfast smoothies and shakes out there to satisfy both your appetite and your tastebuds.  My personal favorite is Carnation Instant Breakfast, which comes in a variety of flavors and contains 21 essential vitamins and minerals to get your day started right.  Pour it right into a travel mug, add milk, stir it up, and enjoy!  You can always bring a piece of toast or fruit for the road just in case you want a little snack to go with your shake.

Go for yogurt.

Yogurt is another delicious way to start your day.  However, alone it is not usually enough to fill up your tummy long enough for you to even make it to the office.  The key is to mix in a protein-rich cereal to keep you satisfied until lunchtime.  My favorite is Kashi GoLean, an all-natural whole grain cereal packed full of protein and fiber.  Pour it right into the yogurt container, grab a spoon, mix it all up, and you are ready to go!

Individually-wrapped breakfast snacks.

Nothing says breakfast-on-the-go like grabbing a granola bar straight out the box and tossing it into your bag for the commute to work.  Pick a breakfast bar that is high in protein to keep you full for a while.  As an added perk, most grocery stores have a huge variety of brands and flavors!  There is a granola bar for every taste, guaranteed.  The Nature Valley product line alone has over ten different varieties to choose from, allowing you to steer clear of breakfast boredom
